Vision:

The use of information technology to establish good governance and knowledge-based economy.



 Mission:

The best use of information technology for ensuring infrastructure development, skilled human resource, employment creation and establishment of e-services as well as good governance.



Strategic Objectives:

1. Creating high speed electronics connectivity.

2. Creation of appropriate infrastructure for the purpose of providing information and communication technology related services.

3. Coordinating activities related to information and communication technology at the government and private levels.

4. Effective maintenance aimed at providing uninterrupted service from information and communication technology related infrastructure.

5. Capacity building of trained manpower for fast changing technologies.

6. Expansion of information and communication technology knowledge at all levels of government and public.

7. Providing overall support in research, innovation and application of new technologies.



Functions:

1. Ensuring and coordinating the use and application of ICT at all levels of government.

2. Providing support, maintenance and support in creating appropriate ICT infrastructure in all departments at the field level.

3. Transfer of technical and specialized knowledge of information technology at all levels.

4. Taking initiatives to provide services to the people at the grass root level electronically

5. Ensuring requirements, quality and interoperability of equipment etc.

6. Research, development and assistance in assimilation of modern technology at all levels.
